Our history

The Poggio del Pero farm covers an area of 28 hectares (69 acres), mostly hilly, with extensive woods, meadows, olive groves with centuries-old ancestral trees and vineyards. For more than 20 years the farm has been producing organic extra virgin olive oil, IGP Umbria wines, fruit jams and homemade wild fennel blossom digestives.

The Porati family has been producing one of the best Trasimeno EvoOs for years, and its production is driven by a great passion for its land and its excellence.
OUR OILS

Territory, biodiversity and sustainable quality.

Our olive groves grow on terraces in the hills surrounding Lake Trasimeno, on marl and sandstone soils rich in skeletons, at an altitude of 350 to 650 metres. These pedoclimatic conditions give our oils a unique character. We cultivate only the historical varieties of our territory and preserve some indigenous varieties that are no longer used, in order to increase the biodiversity and genetic heritage of the company. We have been certified organic for more than 20 years, we do not use synthetic products in any agronomic phase and our respect for the environment drives us to practice a healthier and more sustainable agriculture. This allows us to harvest perfectly healthy olives at the right stage of ripeness and, using the most modern extraction systems, to produce oils with great organoleptic profiles, genuine and precious for our health.

Our Wines

The poetry of the earth: wine as soul.

Our vineyards are situated on the hills of Lake Trasimeno, in the municipality of Panicale, in an uncontaminated environment, privileged by a unique microclimate. We have chosen the most suitable soils and the best exposures, respecting the places where our ancestors have always cultivated vines. These soils are rich in skeleton and the day/night temperature variations possible thanks to the altitude of 450 m a.s.l. allow us to obtain rich and fresh wines that reflect the places where they are born. These pedoclimatic conditions and the choice of historical varieties allow us to reduce any phytosanitary intervention to a minimum. We have been ICEA organic certified for over 20 years and do not use any synthetic products either in the field or in the cellar.

Olio prodotto con il 100% di olive di varietà Frantoio, varietà largamente diffusa nel centro Italia.
Ci regala un olio dai toni fruttati molto intensi che toccano note di mandorla fresca ed erbe di campo.
Le componenti amare e piccanti sono di grande equilibrio.

Le Vieniche

Olio composto da varietà Frantoio, Moraiolo, Leccino, Dolce Agogia ed altre cultivar autoctone minori.

Un Olio rappresentativo del nostro territorio, dal carattere forte e genuino dove tutte le cultivar , come in un’orchestra, si esprimono in un intreccio di aromi che richiamano l’erba appena sfalciata, le erbe spontanee , con toni di amaro e piccante estremamente equilibrati.
